Zantedeschia Distribution

Distribution
All species are native to Africa. Most often they are in the provinces of South Africa in the Capensis: Cape Province, Lesotho, KwaZulu-Natal, Orange Free State, Transvaal and Swaziland. There is the genus but also further north in Angola, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria. The natural habitat of the summer-forms is a warmtemperates climate with rain falling mainly in winter. The other species, such as Z. aethiopica and Z. odorata growing in areas with summer rain and bloom in winter. Often the plants thrive in marshy areas.
